"I grew up in a Christian
home, but moved away from that influence after studying martial for several
years. I moved toward Zen Bhuddism and away from the teachings of Jesus
Christ. I eventually declared myself an atheist and proclaimed it to thousands
of people through my daily radio talk show in the late 60s. God had different
plans for me. He reached out through strong believers and touched my heart
and mind. I received Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1971. It was the greatest
thing that ever happened to me! I studied for the ministry and was
ordained. I pastored
in several churches in the 70s and 80s until the early 90s. I gave up the
study of martial arts during those years because of the spiritual connection
it had had for me previously. I returned to training in 1991 and used it
for ministry purposes from 1996 to the present. We started Grace Martial
Arts Fellowship in 1998 to help other Christian martial arts with their
ministries and
personal challenges."

"I was saved at the age of 16 and led to the Lord during a mission trip to Kermit, West Virginia. Shortly after, I knew the Lord called me to preach. I am an Assistant Pastor / Youth Pastor at Gilead Baptist Church in Macon GA. The Lord has allowed me to be in this position now for over 5 years. Many of our youth are involved in our karate ministry and I have been able to help other youth ministries start a karate ministry of their own.
I started the Champions
For Christ Karate Team at Bob Jones University and led the team for 4 years.
The team is still going strong. I teach self-defense and adult and
children karate classes. I also have a 15 member demo team and we
travel to camps, prisions, meetings, and youth rallys doing semonstrations
and preaching the Word of God. Our demos include concrete breaking, wood
breaking, weapons such as.... nunchakus (carrots out of peoples mouth),
swords (watermellon cut in half with one hand behnd back and blindfolded),
sai as well as many things on fire and many other vegetable special feats.
During our demos we preach the gospel through the Word and also through
personal testimonies. Please feel free to call or write me if you have
any questions or need help or ideas."
I came to Christ at age 13, and was trained for ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary. Our martial arts school is staffed by Christians, which makes for a great atmosphere, and we believe that the disciplines of MA have many applications to the Christian walk. Even though it is relatively early in my MA progress I am enjoying the process of shaping myself to be even better physically and mentally. MA is a way of life if it is practiced correctly."
