"I feel that I have
been called to minister, to children and teenagers. I used
to think that my martial arts skills were by chance. It took nearly loosing
everything (including my life) to realize that I am nothing without God
in my life. I now use my martial arts skills to teach young people the
proper way to live. I try to help them see that the way I used to live
is wrong.
I run a school and
several study groups throughout the community. One of the study groups
is a branch of the local Methodist Youth Group. We call it the Youth Karate
Ministry. Another functions as an experimental, county level 4-H club.
Earlier this year
I founded the Fellowship of Independent Warriors. The first instructor
to join it did so because I was willing to sanction his use of the martial
arts to give young people Christ's message. We are of different faiths
but we work together in fellowship.
It seems as though
God keeps placing me in the right place at the right time to do his work
through my martial arts skills. The Bible does say after all that we are
each given talents which should be used to exalt him. I think what you
are doing and what we are doing here go hand in hand. I would be honored
to be a member of your group."
